MCAA Safety Apps Report

This fifth report in the Construction Technology Research Series was written by JBKLabs exclusively for MCAA. The JBKnowledge team evaluated the numerous applications on the market for safety professionals and foremen. While most are geared towards documentation, there is a growing trend to use the data that is documented and apply analytics to identify root causes and trends. Predictive analytics, which analyze historical data, current projects, and weather can be used to predict higher chances of incidents happening. Both can be extremely powerful tools to help prevent accidents from occurring.

This webinar offers additional insights into the MCAA Safety Apps research report written by JBKLabs exclusively for MCAA.

BIM Software – A Comparative Analysis

This second report in the Construction Technology Research Series was written by JBKLabs exclusively for MCAA. Contractors can greatly benefit from a clear understanding of rapidly evolving BIM technologies in the area of construction and maintenance that can expedite work, increase precision, and prevent mistakes.

This report explores scanning, tracking, layout, design and fabrication technologies using BIM and other software tools. Focusing on MEP, the report includes an assessment of various BIM software for BIM model authoring, model review, construction management, and analysis software tools for mechanical contractors. This snapshot evaluated the products as of the second quarter of 2016. And everyone, contractors new to BIM and those further down the road, should find useful takeaways here.

Construction Technology Report – 3D Scanning Webinar with James Benham

In 2016, the MCAA partnered with JBK Labs to release a multi-part research series on construction technology. Each part can be used by contractors to help evaluate and compare specific products and software in order to help determine how beneficial they could be to their operations. In the first release of the series, 3D Scanning Technology was explored.

James Benham, founder of JB Knowledge and their research wing, JBK Labs, presents findings from the study in this webinar. He explores and compares the differences in products, software and processes that contractors will see when they begin to utilize 3D scanning technology. He also takes a look at some solutions that are not quite ready yet to show what the future of 3D scanning technology might look like

Recorded on April 7, 2016.

3D Scanning Technology – A Comparative Analysis

Technology is a challenge and an opportunity. MCAA partnered with JBK Labs to help our members keep pace by conducting independent research on 3D Scanning technologies. This report is the first of a series.

Virtualization: Reduce Operating Costs While Building for the Future

This MCAA Technology Committee White Paper, produced as a members-only publication given free as a benefit of membership by MCAA, will help you quickly understand why the concept of “virtualization” needs to get out of discussions for the server room and into strategy sessions in the board room to help your company effectively prepare for the future. Whether your company is large or small, the paper describes how you can invest in IT in a smarter way for your day-to-day needs while also preparing for the exponential and needed-it-yesterday capacity growth required to perform BIM…all without breaking the bank!
