Scholarship and Award Applications Are Due Friday, December 20

Applications for scholarships, the Student Chapter of the Year Award and the Educator of the Year Award are due next Friday, December 20, 2019. Read on for more information about all of these, then submit your applications to be sure you get considered.

Scholarships

MCAA is dedicated to providing students the opportunity to develop professional skills, knowledge and experiences. Student chapter members can apply for the following scholarships, which are funded by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) as part of its commitment to funding the next generation of mechanical contracting leaders:

  • Foster McCarl, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
  • Reilly Family Memorial Scholarship
  • William A. Bianco, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
  • Ferguson – Women in the Mechanical Industry Scholarship
  • Josam Endowed Scholarship
  • Alan P. O’Shea Memorial Scholarship

Student Chapter of the Year Award

The Student Chapter of the Year Award recognizes an MCAA student chapter for outstanding achievement as an organization of students who are planning careers in the mechanical construction industry. The $3,000 award recognizes exceptional achievement in governance and leadership, membership recruiting, fundraising, community involvement and career development.

Educator of the Year Award

The Educator of the Year Award recognizes MCAA student chapter faculty advisors for serving as advisors, educators, and mentors of students who plan to develop a professional career with the mechanical construction industry. Student chapters nominate their faculty advisors for this $5,000 award honoring the involvement and engagement of our industry’s academic leaders.

Scholarship and Award Presentations

Scholarships and awards will be presented during the MCAA2020 Awards of Excellence Breakfast on Wednesday, March 18 from 6:30 am – 8:30 am. In order to qualify for a scholarship or award, the potential recipient should be available to attend the event.

MCAA’s student chapter program is dedicated to helping students prepare for careers in the mechanical construction and service industry. When a student joins a chapter, MCAA, MCAA’s local affiliate and the college or university commit to providing that student every opportunity to develop professional skills, knowledge and experiences.
